Leaffooted bugs (Hemiptera: Coreidae) are polyphagus insect pests that feed on agricultural, orchard, and forestry crops. Current detection of leaffooted bugs relies on visual inspection because efficacious semiochemical tools have not yet been developed. We field tested yucca (Yucca filamentosa) and recently available commercial lures as attractants for leaffooted bugs. Initial results revealed that yucca was highly attractive to Leptoglossus species (primarily L. phyllopus) resulting in large aggregations. The tested commercial lures did not attract leaffooted bugs.
