While a variety of formulations are used for pest mitigation, insecticidal dusts remain one of the most effective tools for pest control. Effective as long as they remain dry and undisturbed, insecticidal dusts are a critical component of any pest management program. I present data on a new insecticidal dust for the pest management market, Temprid dust. Containing a pyrethroid (beta-cyfluthrin) and a butenolide (flupyradifurone), this silica-aerogel dust has shown be extremely effective against pests, including bed bugs. I discuss the new active ingredient flupyradifurone and review the efficacy of Temprid dust against susceptible and resistant strains of insects.
