Seeing is believing: Mosquito education with Maricopa County’s outreach program

Mosquitoes may be small, but a microscope with a large screen enables people to see mosquito anatomy and learn about the various stages of their life cycle. Microscopes promote active participation and foster community engagement, encouraging learning. Education is a critical component of an Integrated Pest Management Program, and Maricopa County’s new outreach initiative brings mosquito education to community events and schools through interactive hands-on displays and presentations. Informing the public increases awareness and equips them with tools to proactively prevent mosquito-borne diseases.
