Yaziri is the medical entomologist and vector control supervisor for the City of Brownsville. Her profound interest in the interplay between environmental factors, arthropod vectors, and public health led her to this role. Yaziri's responsibilities include providing technical assistance, conducting fieldwork in vector surveillance, outreach education, and developing vector control program policies. Her long-term goal is to lead public health initiatives that address systemic community issues such as health equity and social justice.
Yaziri graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Entomology in 2015 and obtained her Master of Science in Entomology from the University of Kentucky in 2020.
