The work of educators in universities, community colleges and schools across America provide effective learning experiences for youth, families, and communities. USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture (USDA-NIFA) program investments in STEM Education and Extension/Outreach are focused on K-12 systems, higher education programs (bachelor’s to postdoctoral fellowships) and minority-serving institutions. These programs support education and extension/outreach related to, human and social components of NIFA’s food and agricultural sciences mission. Goals of these program are to strengthening individuals, youth, families, communities, and institutions, involve learning and engagement, develop workforce for next generation food and agriculture scientists and to build capacity in educational institutions.
