Studying insects can definitely change your life and fulfill your career. There are thousands of stories of people that choose to be entomologists and probably, some of those stories share things in common. However, what does it take to become an entomologist? The answer seems very straightforward: a passion to study bugs. The reality is that you can take many routes once you find such passion. For Hispanics, this is not different, but studying bugs can take you to different directions and places once you accept the challenge. Here, I will share some of those challenges and my experience doing entomological research and outreach. As a new assistant professor, I will talk about my current and future goals in my program.
