Insects play many crucial roles in their environments that have both direct and indirect effects on humanity. With insect populations declining globally, it has never been more important to foster an understanding and appreciation for the impact that insects have on our everyday lives. Despite being a somber subject, the global decline of insects can be utilized as a means of engaging nonmajor students and work to foster an appreciation for the many ways that insects impact human society in students that are not familiar with entomology and the many incredible things that insects do.
