Diversity beyond insects in entomology: Examples from an HSI

In the United States, the field of entomology suffers from a lack of diversity. The entomological workforces is not reflective of the greater population for myriad reasons. As an advocate for diversifying the field of insect science, I share my experiences as a junior faculty member actively engaged in research at a Hispanic Serving Institution. I will discuss successes, challenges, and a path forward to encouraging undergraduate research participation from historically underrepresented groups in our discipline.
