Experiences as a trans nonbinary systematist in the field, collections, and internationally

Opportunity to travel for field work and collections visits both nationally and internationally is a privilege that most Entomologists eagerly anticipate. However, as a trans nonbinary person, grant funding and logistics come secondary to the considerations of safety and perception. It is imperative that inclusion efforts actively move beyond the cis and gender binary perspective to increase participation and retention of trans and nonbinary communities. In this talk I will share my experiences as a Systematist and some considerations for fostering more supportive labs, research, and collaborations.
