The fall armyworm (FAW) and rice stem borer (RSB) are two of the most important pests of row crops globally impacting hundreds of millions of acres of corn, rice, soy, cotton and other crops. New modes of actions are direly needed to control these pests. Over the last 5-7 years, Provivi has conducted hundreds of field trials on pheromone-based mating disruption of these two pests in Mexico, Brazil, India, Indonesia, and China. Mating disruption is a proven, non-toxic, species-specific method of controlling pest populations. The Provivi products showed significant grower benefits such as reducing insecticide usage by 30-50% while protecting yields by 5-7% compared to conventional farmer practices.
