The Entomological Society of America boasts a rich diversity of leadership, serving as a strong foundation for success that countless volunteers have leveraged throughout their careers. For early career professionals navigating the job market, the network they develop within academia, government, industry, and NGOs through service to the organization is pivotal to successfully transitioning out of graduate school. However, navigating leadership as an early career professional unfamiliar with the structure of the Entomological Society of America is a potential barrier to increasing participation. Offering more than 200 available positions – many with minimal time commitment, the Entomological Society of America ensures that early career professionals have ample opportunity to explore service positions that align with their interests and further their professional development.
