Fact Sheet Manager (FSM) is a content-management platform that facilitates the creation of publicly available, user-friendly identification tools hosted by the USDA-APHIS-PPQ-S&T Identification Technology Program (ITP). These resources include standardized fact sheets, multi-entry Lucid keys, illustrated glossaries, and image galleries. Recently added features allow for the incorporation of custom BLAST interfaces to facilitate molecular identification, filterable host association tables, and linkages to external databases. Tool creation involves a partnership between researchers and ITP wherein the researcher provides the taxonomic and diagnostic data they wish to present, and ITP staff help coordinate the front-end web design aspects of the tools. Through these partnerships, 18 websites have been published using FSM, and ITP looks to build additional cooperations within the taxonomic community to further the creation of focused websites to aid in pest identification and diagnostics.
