The superfamily Ceraphronoidea is considered a dark taxa, requiring DNA sequencing and advanced imaging techniques to separate into subgroups, resulting in much of the taxa being undescribed. Aphanogmus as genus is easy to separate based on their unique male antenna characteristics. Despite being a monotonous genus, Aphanogmus species can easily be differentiated using male genitalia. Our knowledge of South Korean Ceraphronoidea is basically unknown, having only a handful of studies done in that region. In this study on South Korean Ceraphronidae we describe one new and report of 8 described Aphanogmus species based on xy specimens from Jeju Island.
