Management of thrips pests in beans in south Florida

Snap bean is a major vegetable crop in South Florida. Thrips are constaint in growing various varieties of beans. Melon thrips and Asian bean thrips were abundant on all varieties of beans. Melon thrips population was high on bean leaves and Asian bean thrips was high in bean flowers. Radiant, Torac and Plinazolin were effective in suppressing all species of thrips.
