Field performance of peptide-based insecticide Basin Flex (U1-AGTX-Ta1b-QA) against major lepidopteran pest species in tree nuts, apples, and vegetables: Navel orangeworm (Amyelois transitella), codling moth (Cydia pomonella), beet armyworm (Spodoptera exigua)
Field Development Manager Vestaron Corp Red Bluff, California
Navel orangeworm (Amyelois transitella), orange tortrix (Argyrotaenia franciscana), (beach twig borer (Anarsia lineatella), diamondback moth (Plutella xylostella) and cabbage looper (Trichoplusia ni) are important pest species to the production of tree nuts, winegrapes, stone fruits and brassicas in California. Basin Flex (active ingredient U1-AGTX-Ta1b-QA) and Spear LEP (active ingredient GS-omega/kappa-Hxtx-Hv1a) were evaluated in a series of field trials. The results confirm the performance of peptide-based insecticides using Vestaron’s technology, and the company’s commitment to providing new IPM tools for US growers.
