Codling moth, Cydia pomonella, and oriental fruit moth, Grapholita molesta, are key drivers for pest management in apple orchard systems. A common tool is mating disruption deployed to prevent reproduction in orchard blocks; however, this strategy comes with recommendations for use in large, flat, uniform blocks, which do not align with many growers, particularly on the east coast. Here, we present results on integrating mating disruption into non-compliant apple blocks to reduce apple damage from these pests.
