Zantiks units enable researchers to measure insect behaviour, simply. We have a range of units to work with small insects (e.g. Trichogramma, 0.5mm) through to individuals 2-5 cm in size, or more. Units provide multiple stimuli options including temperature control, vibration, lighting, audio, and food/liquid & odour delivery.
Our systems are used by applied entomologist studying chemical ecology & effects of novel treatments on behaviour, ecotoxicologists investigating effects on non-target organisms, as well as by neuroscientists studying basic neurosciences in model organisms (often Drosophila). Our units provide a standard environment for assays including olfactometers, locomotor activity (circadian rhythm & sleep studies, toxicology screening), and simple learning experiments (startle, habituation, PPI). Live video tracking (including 3D) and integrated control deliver data files ready for statistical analysis.
