Spotted lanternfly, Lycorma delicatula (Hemiptera: Fulgoridae), is an invasive species spreading through the eastern states. Cuticular trichoid pit organs on the thoracic segments are followed and compared across nymphal instars using SEMOrientation of trichomes likely allow directionality of response in the structures. Structures on the head and antennae of adults, including plate-like placoid sensilla and Bourgoin’s organ are also examined.
