The planthoppers north of Mexico were reviewed by Bartlett et al. (2014). We recently published a supplement to that work, giving totals of 175 genera and 924 species in 13 families of planthoppers in the region. Here we provide a summary of recent faunal additions and highlight some upcoming work on planthopper diversity north of Mexico.
