Shot hole borers (Euwallacea fornicatus species complex) and box tree moth (Cydalima perspectalis) are invasive insects that threaten United States agriculture, landscapes, and natural resources. Classical biological control programs have been implemented to provide a tool with which to safeguard plants and control invasive populations. In this talk I will share our current progress in evaluating Phymastichus sp. and Eriborus sp., promising parasitoids of shot hole borers and box tree moth, respectively, discovered through foreign exploration. I will also look to the future and the past, discussing my own research prospects for these programs while recognizing the efforts of Dr. Juli Gould in their inception.
