There are many features of biopesticides that make them great candidates for indoor pest management, including their shorter re-entry intervals, softer impacts on biological control agents, and reduced risks of crop residues. However, there can also be challenges in their use. In this talk, I’ll discuss recommendations for how to successfully incorporate biopesticides into controlled environment ag, including timing, mixing recommendations, and other considerations, as well as share examples of successful programs using them to control arthropods in CEA. I’ll also discuss how to navigate pesticide label confusion as it pertains to CEA.
