Australia is a biodiversity hotspot for plant bugs (Heteroptera: Miridae) and in the past few decades there has been an increase in field and taxonomic research for the group in that region. The genus Wallabicoris, comprised of 37 species endemic to Australia, was described in 2010 and there has been minimal subsequent research on the taxon since then. For the present study, revisionary taxonomic research was conducted using a 342-specimen loan from the American Museum of Natural History. The thorough investigation of external morphological differences, genitalic structures, host-plant information, and 16S molecular data resulted in delineation of specimens into 7 distinct species and an updated phylogeny of Wallabicoris.
