Introduced bee species have increased in prevalence in native pollinator communities. The genus Hylaeus, known as yellow-faced or masked bees, is a highly diverse group of small stem-nesting bees. Of the over 500 species found worldwide, five species of Hylaeus have established non-native populations in North America. We report the first records of Hylaeus hyalinatus Smith (Hymenoptera: Colletidae) for the state of Indiana. Four specimens of H. hyalinatus were collected from 2021 to 2023 in Marion, Grant County. The species was discovered through routine community sampling of pollinators at small garden plots from June to September. Several plots were sampled within Marion across all three years, however only a single 10 x 20-foot plot located at Curfman’s Community Garden yielded H. hyalinatus. This record serves to fill the gap for the range of H. hyalinatus.
